Our Approach
At Gavin & Dersch Law and Mediation, we work jointly with you on your case. We want to know your goals, and we take the time to mutually develop a strategy to meet those goals as best possible under the law.

We take the time to get to know you and understand your family’s unique dynamic. We can represent you in three separate roles:
- Litigation and Settlement: Our attorneys represent you in an individual capacity.
- Mediation: Attorney Dersch can act as a neutral to help resolve disputes between you and your spouse.
- Consultation: We often serve as a consultant to help you “behind the scenes.”
Individuals often wonder, “what if I already have an attorney?” Much like receiving medical information, often people want a second opinion. We provide second opinions and consultations in these scenarios as well.
Our Lawyers
Attorney Wayne Dersch has more than 40 years of experience. He is a respected member of the legal community and trusted advocate.
Wayne Dersch is certified as a family law specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. He is a skilled litigator and creative thinker and his practice is entirely focused on family law. Attorney Dersch also has extensive experience as a mediator. He is committed to protecting his clients’ financial and parental rights. In April of 2016 Attorney Dersch was honored by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys as one of the “10 Best” attorneys in San Diego County.
